Unashamed Bride, our story, how UB Outfitters was born.
Our purpose and mission is to share our story to help others lead life shamelessly. We walk by faith, unashamed of our past sins as the bride of Christ. Born into brokenness, our lives were a reflection of sin, shame, and addiction. Satan was quietly taking over our family, attacking us when we needed Christ the most.
In 2014, our world changed. We didn’t know it because Satan quietly slipped into our family unit. He had a vicious plan. A plan that you don’t think will ever happen to you. We were living “the good life” a good salary, owned a very successful company, country club life, big house, luxury cars. But that year changed our family forever. This was the year that UB Outfitters started. We had no idea, but God did.
A picture is worth a thousand words
Our son did an incredible watercolor painting at the age of 9 years old, he is now 17. He won the State of Oklahoma in watercolor. This painting is what the Holy Spirit brought into our lives and is what became our logo.
Going through the motions
See that year started out like any other year! Birthday parties, exhaustion from Christmas, and looking forward to the New Year. Drug addiction and finding out about past sexual trauma was not in the plan. Satan knew that we were weak and vulnerable. He knew he could silently come in and get our “picture perfect family” because our foundation wasn’t strong. The Lord, our Father, was nowhere to be found in our family. We would go to church every Sunday, but then just turn to our normal busy, partying lifestyle on Monday.
A turn of events
Our home was not physically or verbally abusive, we were just two lost parents looking to material things and other people to satisfy our ego and our insecurities.
We contained and lived like this for 4 years until Blake stepped up and chose rehab in February of 2018. During his stay in rehab, we learned a lot about each other. We wondered, “How in the heck did we get here, how did we get so far off track?” The answer clearly was there, we were lost and broken. Everything we tried to fill our spirit and soul with wasn’t working. Satan cornered us and held us captive for longer than we should have been there.
Living unashamed
Thankfully with God’s never ending mercy and His forgiveness, we ran straight into His arms and that’s where we have been ever since. I am not saying that we haven’t had our bad days, but now on those bad days - we know WHO to run to. We have hope for our marriage, our kids, and our eternal lives because of the blood of Jesus. Satan no longer is apart of our household. He definitely tries to come and get us because he is scared and intimidated of what our testimonies can do for God’s incredible Kingdom.
We are no longer bound by the chains of sin and regret but filled with the righteousness of God’s grace and mercies. We proudly wear UB Outfitters to remind us that we can all overcome the past and truly live Unashamed.
